The sale of the property of Ross Bros., of Buckingham, Que., to the James Mc- Laren Lumber Company, has been con- firmed. The property includes limits, logs, saw-mill, etc. The barque Africa is loading lumber at Bear River N. S., for Buenos Ayres, on account of Clarke Bros. The Golden Rod will load at Digby for South America, Clarke Bros, being the shippers. It is reported that W. K. Drader has purchased 1,000,000 ft. of logs belonging to Steinhoff & Gordon, of Wallaceburg, Ont., and that the latter will not rebuild their mill. Mr. Diaderhas also purchased from them 600 cords of bolts. The srt. Heighington is loading deals and lumber at Hochelaga, Montreal, for the United Kingdom, for W. & J. Sharpies. The Montenegro, which sailed from Mont- real last week for London, carried 70,150 pieces of deals, 1,282 elm strips, 1,840 pes. walnut boards, and considerable wood pulp. The str. Alcides, which sailed for Glasgow, carried 22,259 pes. deals. Concerning the Barbadoes lumber market Messrs. S. P. Musson, Son & Com- pany say : The only arrival with white pine has been the Boston Marine, from St. John, N. B., with 58 M shipping and 36 M second quality, which was readily taken by the dealers at $25 and $ respec- tively. The Minto, from Lunenburg, , arrived on the 24th ultimo with 120 M ft. spruce.
