Guardsmen perform at the art installation Blood Swept Lands & Seas of Red


5 August 2014 TOWER OF LONDON, ENGLAND: Guardsmen perform the art installation 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red', by Paul Cummins, which opened on the 100th anniversary of the first full day of fighting following the outbreak of the First World War (WW1) the previous day. The work eventually comprised 888,246 ceramic poppies, each representing the death of a member of the British or Colonial forces during WW1. The final poppy was placed on 11 November 2014.
