The involution of the uterus.—On the day alter deliverythe uterus weighs from a pound and a half to two pounds anda half, and its iundus reaches as high as the umbilicus. Itsreturn during the lying-in period nearly to the dimensions ithad before pregnancy, is called the involution of the uterus(Figs. 15, 16). Generally by the twelfth day after delivery the.
