Brent Spillner is rung ashore as Springfield’s commanding officer for the first time during a change of command ceremony where he relieved Springfield’s former commanding officer Capt. Roger Meyer during a change of command ceremony in the chapel aboard Naval Submarine Base New London. USS Springfield is a Los Angeles-class, fast attack submarine currently homeported at Naval Submarine Base New London.
