Section through the centre of the abdomen. of the abdominal cavity, the inferior portion resting on the liver, and the anterior portion against the diaphragm, the left surface going toward the abdominal wall, but between that and the wall lies the left wing of the liver. This left lobe extends as far as the pelvis, coming close to the anterior edge of the left kidney; the larger part of the stomach is inclosed by the liver and the diaphragm coming in contact with the anterior side. The cardiac end of the stomach is directed toward the median line and the pyloric toward the right.
