London, UK. 7th May, 2016. One of the Barbican cleaners speaks at the protest by cleaners union UVW against redundancies outside after leaving the Barbican Centre. Cleaning contractor Servest proposes making many of the cleaners redundant or severely cutting their hours and pay. Earlier protests at the Barbican had led to the cleaners getting the London Living Wage in January 2016 but the Barbican disclaims any responsibility for the people who clean the building although Servest claims they driving the cuts.
