The former aviary building that housed pigeons for sport and food at historic Dundurn Castle in Hamilton Ontario Canada

The former aviary building at Dundurn Castle, on of Hamilton Ontario's most recognized locations and a National historic site of Canada. Built by Sir Allan Napier MacNab (1798 - 1862), one of Canada's first premiers, the grounds also includes a magnificent forty room Victorian mansion and a 'folly' on its expansive estate. The 19th century aviary was reportedly built to house pigeons and other birds that were used for both sport and food. Today the historic grounds and buildings are a major Southern Ontario tourist attraction and a popular venue for private events and wedding receptions.
