Members of the Sturmabteilung (the SA, the infamous brownshirts) during the April 1 1933 boycott of Jewish businesses. Here they are seen in Berlin handing out signs for people to put up around town. The boycott of Jewish businesses was the first direct anti-jewish action which led on to the exclusion of Jews from society and ultimately the extermination, and it took place only 2 months after Hitler came to power.
