Seldom, if ever,has there been such a distinguished gathering ofscholars in the state. Among them were ninepresidents of colleges in the West and MiddleWest, and representatives of almost fifty collegesand universities. A feature of the dedication exercises whichwas of particular interest to the people of Colo-rado Springs was the action of the Trustees and. Approach to Colorado College. Palmer Hall, the Science and Administration Building. the College life to grow in every way with thegreat material expansion which has come to it thisyear. Long live Doctor Palmer! The formal dedicatory exercises took placeTuesday morning. The exercises of the morningcommenced with a grand procession of all thestudents and Faculty of the College, with manyAlumni and distinguished visitors. The proces-sion moved from Palmer Hall to Perkins Audi-torium, where the addresses of the day were givenby President Slocum, and President Jordan of Faculty of Colorado College in conferring uponGeneral William J. Palmer the honorary degree ofDoctor of Laws. The action was highly appre-ciated by the audience. President Slocums address reviewed particu-larly the events leading up to the building ofPalmer Hall. To begin at the beginning. Presi-dent Slocum read the words of the founders ofColorado College, whose purpose it
