Basler BT-67 turboprop transport aircraft of the US Department of State during runway practice in Malta

The Douglas DC-3 is a classic pre-war passenger plane which gained additional fame as a troop transport and cargo carrier during World War II, when it was known as the C-47 Skytrain or Dakota. Some examples remain in service, particularly turboprop-engined derivatives such as this Basler BT-67, which is shown performing a touch-and-go in Malta.
