Grave Slab showing Sword & Crest at St Oswald's Church Windrush Valley Cotswold Hills
Part of St Oswalds Priory Gloucester from 1086 until the Dissolution. Transferred to Oxfordshire in 1844. Built on the floor of a Roman Villa. Roman pavement and C14 wall paintings revealed upon restoration. Has a blocked north doorway and box pews. Surrounded by largely hidden remains of abandoned medieval village of which church is sole survivor.
