The Klondyke Gladiolus wliich is offered now forthe first time, originated with one of the most careful and painstaking Gladiolus specialists in this country. All of the ''crack strains" and new varieties offered are grown by him so as to become familiar with both their good and bnd points; he also grows larsequantities of seedlings from his own specially hand-pollenated seed secured by using pollen from none but the most promising flowers in his" growing crops. After growing Klondyke and selling its cut-bloom to florists for the past six years, he furnishes us the descriptions and testimonials herewith. Its Habit of growth is strong, stocky, and vigorous, with healthy broad foliage, and stands firmly ert ct without staking, even in severest weather, never trailing, or throwing a crooked spike. It is very prolitic, producing freely of large, round cormels, thus multiplying rapidly and shows in every" way great constituiional rigor. It Blooms early and holds out late, making its blooming season much longer than that of most varieties and furnishing a much greater number of cut spikes. Tbe spike is long, erect and straight, with from four to six individual flowers open at once. With high culture it often pro- duces semi-double flowers, as many as thirty-four petals having been observed in one instance, instead of six, the usual number. Side spikes fol
