John Polak, Memorial Association for Free Czechoslovak Veterans with Louisa Russell, Chair Secret World War 2 Learning Network at the unveiling & commemorative service related to Bellasis & Operation Anthropoid
On the 14th July 2021 the Secret World War 2 Learning Network gathered at Headley Heath with notables to unveil an information / memorial board near Bellasis. Now named Bellasis House it was a WW2 Special Operations Executive training school STS 2 for undercover agents. Jozef Gabčik and Jan Kubiš were Czechoslovak army soldiers in exile and remembered on this newly installed Information Board who parachuted with 5 other Czechoslovak agents into their home country. This initiated Operation Anthropoid which led to the assassination of the Nazi SS Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia Reinhard Heydrich who died from injuries sustained in the attach on 4th June 1942. Arranged by the Secret World War 2 Learning Network with the support of the National Trust, Mole Valley District Council & The Gerry Holdsworth Special Forces Charitable Trust.
