Acrobatic artists prepare before the parade. The Christmas season started in Nijmegen with a beautiful winter parade made up of a group of acrobatic artists walking on stilts characterized as fantasy creatures. Once arrived at Plein 1944, Erik van Zanten, chairman of the 'House for the City Center', and Councilor John Brom opened the Nijmegen Winter Weeks with the lighting of a ten-meter-high Christmas tree.
