A Northern Italian saddletree sword, end of the 15th century Strong, double-edged blade, the upper half with flat grooves on both sides. The root on both sides with gold-inlaid cross mark with heart, in the middle of the blade a stylised crozier inlaid in gold on each side. Flat, S-shaped, curved quillons (slightly bent). Strong tang with few adhesions of the wooden grip panels. Octagonal disc pommel, with four deeply struck, rectangular marks on both sides.
