Village road in Longtown Herefordshire
In 1516 a report to the Earl of Leicester said "The said town is a very long town being but one street in it. "Today it has changed little. There are remains of a strategically placed castle and the outer earth ramparts are shown in this photograph. The ramparts on the left were the location for the gallows of the last hanging in Herefordshire.
