Founded in October 1970 Bavarian Forest National Park is the oldest National Park in Germany. Heavily influenced by forestry industry in former times since then Norway spruce-dominated highland forests are developing naturally. Seit 1970 der Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald als ältester deutscher Nationalpark gegründet wurde, ruht die frühere Forstwirtschaft in diesem Gebiet. Fällen Stürme oder Nass-Schneefälle die Bergfichten-Wälder greift niemand ein und in den so entstandenen Lichtungen wächst der Urwald aus eigener Kraft wieder hoch.
