The statue of the Count of Portugal, Vimara Peres (820 - 873), in Porto, Portugal. Vimara Peres was a Galician Christian who played an important role in the Reconquest of Portugal from the Moors. The statue, by Barata Feyo, was erected in 1968 to mark 1000 years since Peres was given the title "Count of Portugal".
