. Elementary and dental radiography / by Howard Riley Raper . lower third molar, causing a false ankylosis. (Radiograph by Graham, of Detroit.) confronting the dental scientist can be solved only by the intelligent andpersistent use of the X-rays. It is not my intention now to tell of all the different uses to whichthe radiograph has been and may be put in the broad field of dentalscientific research. I could not if I tried. I shall mention but a few. Dr. Joseph Beck, by the use of the stereoscopic radiographs, is mak-ing a comparative study of the pneumatic sinuses of man and the loweranimals

Dr. Joseph Beck, by the use of the stereoscopic radiographs, is mak-ing a comparative study of the pneumatic sinuses of man and the loweranimals. 264 DENTAL RADIOGRAPHY Dr. Johnson Symington and Dr. J. C. Rankin have recently publisheda book, An Atlas of Skiagrams, illustrating, in twenty radiographs, thedevelopment of the teeth and jaws from birth to the age of sixteen years. I have demonstrated the action of bismuth paste in one case. () No definite conclusions should be drawn from this single case. Thefield of research work along this line is still wide open and inviting
