, Germany, Berlin, Berlin - Europe - Techno fans and revelers at the Rave the Planet parade, the successor to the Love Parade, the capital's former annual cult event from 1989 to 2006. The techno parade moves from Kurfuerstendamm via Potsdamer Platz to the Victory Column. Initiated by Dr. Motte, whose bourgeois name is Matthias Roeingh, people are to take to the streets under the motto Together again and carry on the spirit of the Love Parade. The organizers are promoting the recognition and preservation of electronic dance music and club culture as a cultural achievement to the point of UNESCO cultural heritage, and in the meantime assumed more than 250,000 participants.
