Actually Ulvön is not only one island but two: a northern and a southern island. The island of Ulvön has been a major fishing island since the mid part of the 16th century. Back then fishermen came from Gävle for the baltic herring. Today Ulvön Island have remained a fishing island but the amount of visitors has rose dramatically over the last decade.
