A species from Japan. Single, pure white blossoms of five petals ; highly scented ; a splendid shrub. Rugosa Rubra.—Vig. Another Japan variety. Flowers single, of a most beautiful bright rosy crimson, succeeded by large berries of a rich rosy-red color, and are a great addition to the ornamental character of the plant. Rugosa Rosea.—Vig. Also from Jap- an; flowers rose colored, tinged with violet; same size and form but of more vigorous habit than the preceding; a valuable shrub.
