Vertical, black and white photograph showing the W. H. D. Barnard residence, located at the corner of Meramec Street and Virginia Avenue. The two-story house has a small tower room in the center of the roof and ornate brick chimneys at the four corners. Wooden gingerbread trim decorates the porch and the roof line. Bushes and other foliage surround the house. A gardener can be seen digging in the front garden, and a woman sits on the porch. The photograph was taken in 1878, but the print was probably made sometime between 1940-1962. See the back of the print for notes written by Dr. William G.
