This process goes onto a certain point, when by the increasingbone density, the body becomes anchored. Mr. H. W. Dachtler, Toledo, Ohio.—Iwould like to ask Dr. Groover if he has hadany experience in making a differentialdiagnosis between an old tuberculosis ofthe spine and a compression fracture of avertebra. I have had a case in which thepatient claimed to have been injuredwhen an automobile body was allowed toslip upon his shoulders but he gave a his-tory suggesting an old tuberculosis of thespine. There was a marked lesion presentand I expressed the opinion that it was anold tuberculosis because the edges of thebody, in a lateral view, were not smoothbut were roughened and showed erosion.
