Comstock, Texas, USA: Native American Indian rock art paintings in Panther Cave in Seminole Canyon State Historical Area, owned by the National Park Service on Lake Amistad on the Texas-Mexico border. The pictographs, made by Native Americans of unknown tribes who lived in the area, roughly date from the Archaic Period, ca. 7000 BC to AD 600, and are in the Pecos River Style. The cave shelter is on the Rio Grande River which forms Lake Amistad upstream from Amistad Dam) downstream from the confluence with the Pecos River. ©Bob Daemmrich/
