Portrait of Johannes Wtenbogaert by Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn (1606-1669), oil on canvas, 1633. The 76 year old Remonstrant minister, once the court chaplain of Prince Maurice, wears a calotte (skullcap) and a 'tabard', a fur-lined cloak - the kind of clothing elderly scholars preferred to be portrayed in. Wtenbgaert's fact is more realistically modelled than his hands, which may have been done by a pupil in Rembrandt's workshop.
