This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) satellites, illustration. MTG is the Meteosat Third Generation satellite network. There will be four MTG-I imaging (foreground) and two MTG-S sounding satellites. The launches are scheduled from 2021 to 2028. Following on from the Meteosat Second Generation satellites, MTG is a cooperative venture between Eumetsat and ESA, and will ensure continuity of high-resolution meteorological data to beyond 2038 from geostationary orbit.
