Green dock beetles, Gastrophysa viridula, feeding on the remains of dock plants on the banks of the Dorset Stour river near Sturminster Newton. The leaves of the plants had already been virtually stripped by green dock beetle larvae and the adults appear to be eating the stems and heads of the dock plants. Dock plants are a primary food source for the green dock beetle. North Dorset England UK GB.
