From all partsof the world, men whose opinion is worth caring for,wrote and thanked us for the step we had taken, sayingthat such a work supplied a distinct want. The littlecloud out of the sea no bigger than a mans hand grewto a size beyond our hopes, and our edition strictly limitedto 500 copies, rapidly ran out. The note howevermost generally harped upon by our kind correspondentswas that concerning the absence of references to theauthorities cited here and there in the two volumes.
