1993 Russian constitutional crisis October 5 1993. Shadows of onlookers reflect in the Bullet riddled front window at the entrance to the Moscow Mayor's office across the street from the Russian White House after the 1993 Anti-Yeltsin Putsch in Moscow, Russia. The Anti-Yeltsin followers of Russian Vice President Aleksandr Rutskoi and Supreme Soviet speaker Ruslan Khasbulatov attacked the Mayor’s office, across the street from the Russian White House in central Moscow, in what is considered to be the worst violence in Moscow since the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution. After the rioters surrendered and Rutskoi and Khasbulatov were arrested, according to the Russian Government 74 people died and 172 were injured during the conflict.
