Looking NE at the nave of St Peter's 7th century chapel, Burnham-on-Crouch, built of reused Roman materials on the gateway of Othona Roman fort.

Looking NE at the nave of St Peter's 7th century chapel, built of reused Roman materials on the gateway of Othona Roman fort. It formed part of St Cedd's Anglo-Saxon monastery, served as a beacon-house in Tudor times, later as a barn and is now used as a chapel again by the Othona Community. Bonding marks of the destroyed west porch are visible around the doorway and four of seven original buttresses can be seen.
