It is an important shipping point on theSanta Fe Railway and controls the trade of a large extent ofcountry. Near Springer is an artesian well pouring out min-eral water. The town is the trade center for the Elizabeth-town, Ute Creek and Cimarron mining districts, and maintainsa daily stage line to these points.
