Large antique Indian Thanjavur (Tanjore) copper vessel embellished with Hindu deities including brass Ganesha finial on its lid and various standing figures depicted in relief decorated silver around the body in a manner reminiscent of Chennai Swami silver of the same period. Great quality craftsmanship and very solid heavy example of Tanjore-ware. Height: 23 cm. Origin: Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Southern India
