Fred Jencks received one at Bristol the same day (probably the same bird). Breeding in Connecticut. â The Barn Owl is a rare breeder in Connecticut. In addition to a number of records of the occurrence of the bird, given by Sage, Bishop and Bliss in their Birds of Connec- ticut and others received independently by me, there are the following breeding records, the first two also being given in the Birds of Connecticut: â Winsted, 1892, nest with six young found in an old factory by H. Kinney; ^ in 1893 a pair nested in same nest, seven eggs being taken by a Mr. Williams; ^ Crom- well, 1920, nest with four young found by Phil Sutton. South Windsor, 1921-1922-1923, pair nested in Walnut tree, broken off about twenty feet from ground and hollow down about nine feet; this nest had five young, June 6, 1924; ^ nest with young first found June 6, 1921, by Mr. C. W. Vibert, (prior to 1921 the pair had nested in a near-by barn). Season in Massachusetts. â May to December. BARN OWL. MIDDLESEX WORCESTER >â *- f^--,-SUFFOLK.
