An elderly woman from the Brau ethnic minority uses her smartphone as she is watched by her grand daughter holding a baby in their village of Dak Me, Bo Y Commune, Ngoc Hoi District, Kontum Province in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Behind them is an earthenware jar full of ruou can, a traditional homemade alcohol drunk through long straws. The Brau, who live close to the border with Laos and Cambodia, are one of 54 distinct ethnic minorites in Vietnam and have fewer than 1,000 people.
