Designs for Bedroom Alcove Walls, Giuseppe Barberi, Italian, 1746–1809, Pen and brown ink, brush and brown wash on off-white laid paper, The alcove has the shape of a broad niche with a spherical ceiling above the entablature. A main entrance and two lateral secondary ones are suggested. Above: a variation of -1604 below. The arch is framed by moldings and by panels, framed outwards by moldings. On top is a keystone and a garland. The lateral parts of the wall are receding. On top is a bust, upon a pedestal. Spheres are in the places of vases.
