Napoleon Bonaparte (15 August 1769 - 5 May 1821) was a French military and political leader who rose to prominence during the latter stages of the French Revolution and its associated wars in Europe. Maria Countess Walewska (7 December 1786 - 11 December 1817) was a Polish noblewoman and a mistress of Emperor Napoleon. In her later years she married count Philippe Antoine d'Ornano, an influential Napoleonic officer. Mark Schneider (1969) is a well-known professional American actor who portraits Napoleon Bonaparte during Napoleonic battle reenactments and events throughout Europe and America. Irina Mishanina is a well-known Russian historical reenactor who mainly portraits Maria Countess Walewska. This photo was taken during the bicentennial anniversary of the Battle of Borodino (1812-2012). The Battle of Borodino was one of the major battles during Napoleon's campaign in Russia which ultimately led to his demise.
