People crossing a trail (suspension) Bridge in Parbat, Nepal


Kushma-Gyadi catenary suspension footbridge in Parbat, near Pokhara, is one of the world’s highest of its type with crossing 384 feet above the Madi River. This bridge is also one of Nepal’s longest with a span of 1,128 feet. With its difficult mountainous geographical terrians, trail bridges are crucial in connecting communities across Nepal. However, periodic maintenance of these bridges remains a problem.
