I believe that this ship was built in 1940 as Mid Tyne 2, and operated a ferry service between Hebburn and Walker or Wallsend. With the decline of the shipyards came a reduction in the numbers using the ferry and it ran pleasure boat trips on the river. It later served as a supply vessel to the offshore radio station Radio Caroline under the name of MV Galexy. It also appeared in the Get Carter movie.
