Royal Air Force 1939-1945- Coastal Command The SS KENSINGTON COURT sinking by the bow on 18 September 1939, as seen from one of the three Sunderlands from No 228 Squadron involved in the rescue of her crew. The ship had been shelled by a surfaced U-boat 70 miles west of the Isles of Scilly.
