German prisoners who had been confined for eleven months escape but were caught in American front line trenches on their way back to German lines in Baccarat, France on June 15, 1918. This photograph was taken by Lt. J. S. Brown, Jr., Signal Corps, and received on August 24, 1918. It was passed by the A. E. F. Censor on July 29, 1918.
