ACCOUNTANT OFFICER SACRIFICES HIS RANK TO FLY AS NAVIGATOR - A Leicester accountant officer in the gave up his rank as Squadron Leader and reverted to Pilot Office so that he could fly on operations. He is now a Flying Officer navigator in a top scoring Mosquito Squadron in Fighter Command. The name of this 38 year old officer is Richard 'Bob' Peel, of Western Park, Leicester. He went to a Navigator's School and three months ago was posted as Pilot Officer to a famous Battle of Britain pilot. Flying Officer Peel has completed day and night sorties over enemy territory and keeps fit by playing squash with members of the Squadron. He is also Squadron Welfare Officer in his spare time.
