Paul “Bud” Rogers Jr. on Springfield’s sail as Rogers’ biography and biblical scriptures were read during a burial at sea ceremony. The ceremony also featured a three-gun salute and the playing of Taps, before Rogers’ ashes were committed to the sea. The ceremony took place at the final resting place of USS Thresher (SSN 593).
