A late 19th Century view of the beach in Great Yarmouth, aka Yarmouth, a seaside town in Norfolk, England. It has been a seaside resort since 1760, providing also a gateway from the Norfolk Broads to the North Sea as well as a longstanding fishing port. As a tourist centre, Yarmouth rose to prominence when a railway built in 1844 gave visitors easier and cheaper access and triggered an influx of settlers.
