San Village. Setting a sprung lasso trap to catch 'lunch'.

The San hunter is setting a lasso trap. When the animal comes along the well worn path it will try to eat a berry that is being used as bait. It's neck will be inside the noose, at this point the spring mechanism will tighten the branch and whip it upwards where the animal will be suspended in the air awaiting the hunter's return. The Living Museum of the Ju/'Hoansi-San was initiated by the Namibian tour guide Werner Pfeifer and the teacher Ghau N!aici from Grashoek. Since July 2004 the ju/'Hoansi have run the museum completely on their own.
