Egyptian god Taueret

The ancient Egyptian god Taueret, also known as Thoeris and Apet, was worshiped as a mother goddess. Her name meant Great One, and, in art, she was depicted as a hippopotamus. On her head were the solar disk and cow's horns, symbolic of her assistance at the daily rising of the sun.
