Dragon - City Boundary Marks by The dragon figures, guardians of The City of London, were originally built as decoration for the Coal Exchange on Lower Thames Street in the mid 19th century. When the building was demolished in 1962 it was decided to use the dragon design to make several statues to mark all the entrances to the City. Victoria Embankment,EC4 - plus many other places
