Armstrong Bridge in Jesmond Dene, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, UK

The oasis of calm that is Jesmond Dene minutes from the city centre of Newcastle. Armstrong Bridge opened in 1878 and crosses the River Ouseburn connecting Heaton and Jesmond. It was unique in its time, as it was designed to overcome subsidence problems caused by local mining. Engineer: Sir Armstrong & Co. (Image processed to give a slight retro romantic filmic quality.)
