Base of the cliffs at Penrhyn Mawr, Anglesey. This is a rugged area of the Anglesey Coast facing the Irish Sea. These cliffs are metamorphosed sedimentary rock formed around 600 million years ago and are subject to the full force of the Irish Sea. In the days before steam this coast was treacherous to sailing ships.
