View SSE of four prehistoric stone rings (three ellipses around a central circle) at Yellowmead near Sheepstor on Dartmoor, Devon, England, UK. The site was discovered, excavated & restored in 1921 by the Dartmoor Preservation Society led by the Rev. H. Breton. The monument may be three stone rings around a central kerb cairn, or four stone kerbs covered by & helping to stabilise a large round cairn: the outer ring is 20m across & has the largest stones, the inner ring is across with 21 stones set very close together. The monument may have been built in several stages & there are signs of an avenue or multiple stone rows extending to the W.
